When you see the cost and reduction in CO2  it only leaves two reason for not going nuclear is safety and disposing of spent fuel. I beleave these concerns are blown out of proportion. First the fuel can be recycled France has been doing if for 30 years.   Second safety, if you look at the worlds two nuclear disasters Three Mile Island and Chernobyl. One is what happens in a porrly designed plant and the other is a success story. Chernobyl was porrly designed. It had poorly designed controls and displays which made it impossible for the operators to respond correctly when the problems arised, but three mile island shows a success of the safety systems. The safety system did what they were suppose to and no one was hurt and very little radiation escaped.

The Public School has a market failure for two reasons.  The first reason is that the students and family fail to recognize that the long-term value of a good education outweighs the short-term sacrifice of time and hard work.  The second reason is teacher pay.  This failure is not because teachers as a whole are not paid enough.  It is as Miller pointed out that teachers in the inner city are paid less than the teachers in nearby suburbs.  I cannot think of another industry were you get paid less doing the same job, but you are working in more difficult circumstances.

The reason we never hear about the successes is that it serves no-one’s agenda.  Money motivates everyone to point out public school shortcomings.  Schools want more money so they highlight the problem.  They are quick to point out more money will solve everything.  Teacher point out that schools shortcoming is a result of low teacher salaries.
